1. Don't kill yourself trying to be too nice to everyone you meet. You will putting too much pressure on yourself. Sometimes meeting people at social occasions such as christmas can be just as tiring as your daily job. However, be aware some people may have stressful and hectic work and need to adjust to the Christmas festival. So, do try to put a little effort to be friendly and take the trouble to greet friends, colleagues and relatives and exchange pleasantries.

2. Plan early. We are know there will be frantic shopping on pre Christmas days. So get your gifts early to avoid the long queues . You might face the disappointment of stocks running out too on the last day before christmas. You may even want to take one or two days' of leave before christmas so that everything is in order.



3. If you intend to drink, don't drive. If you must drive, then go to a party with a few friends. Let your sober friends send you home after the Christmas party.. Alternatively, try not to drink so much or mix your alcohol with non alcoholic beverages.



4. We tend to be forgetful during the festive period. We are spending so much time interacting with people and keeping the busy schedule of meeting friends and family. Before you leave your house, make sure you lock your main door and also your gate. Don't forget to switch on the alarm too. Burglars take opportunity of the festive period to strike when people let down their guard.



5 Plan your budget for christmas and keep within your budget. You don't have to overspend. Most importantly, it is the thought that counts and spending time with your loved ones.



6. What better way to celebrate Christmas than to visit someone less fortunate than you. It could even be your relative who is down and out and handicap and alone. You can do your part to make the world a better place to live in and at the same time you'll discover you 'll feel good about yourself.



7. Find out what others want for Christmas and let them know your budget. Get them to go to what do you want for Christmas. It makes Christmas gift exchange so much easier as everyone knows exactly what to get for everyone else.
